Let me introduce myself!

Hey there! Bethany here. I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. Mom. Partner. Office Manager. Hiker. Journaler (I don't think this is an actual word).  I wear many hats as many of us do.  My kids have gotten older so I have quite a bit of time to focus on some of the things I have come to enjoy.

What started as a family trip in 2023 to the beautiful mountains in Kentucky has slowly become a new fascination. Let me tell you a little more! My wonderful partner, Robert, came across a sponsored ad on Facebook for The Gorge Underground. We looked into it and within an hour we had a family weekend tripped booked and planned.

Before our reservation for The Gorge Underground kayak trip, we took a “short” hike to the natural bridge in Red River Gorge in the Natural Bridge State Park. When I say short, I mean it was just about 3.5 miles round trip. This was our first hike together and in general. This is where I fell in love with finding beautiful trails to hike. For as long as I can remember, the mountains have always called to me. There is nothing more beautiful and refreshing as standing at the top of a summit or overlook. In truth, it puts life in perspective.

It would be TEN more months before we went on another hike. Like I said, it was a slow process in the beginning. This hike was filled with friends, kids and our fur baby Piper. We packed a lunch and made a day of it. This is where things became more consistent and we started going hiking every couple of months.

I document each hike in an actual paper journal and now on my website. This is my creative outlet. Stickers, markers, stencils and stamps. I try to make it my own so I can reflect on the memories each hike and more importantly how far I’ve come!

I hope you take a moment to look through our Adventures and my Hiking Log. I update them as adventures and hikes come along. My blog is a work in progress but please come back to check it out. This is where my love for hiking and journaling come together.
